主讲人简介:

           Reinhard R. Baumann is Professor for Digital Printing and Imaging Technology at the Institute for Print and Media Technology of the Chemnitz University of Technology and head of the Printed Functionalities department of the Fraunhofer Institute for Electronic Nanosystems ENAS in Chemnitz, Germany. Prof. Baumann served as a member of the board of the Organic Electronic Association (OE-A, 2004-2017). He served as Vice President of the International Society for Imaging Science and Technology IS&T (2011- 2015) and is a fellow of both organizations and of Fraunhofer ENAS. His research interests are future applications of graphic arts technologies in digital manufacturing of Smart Objects including Printed Flexible Electronics.


讲座内容:

       Printing Technologies are additive technologies which allow the deposition of functional materials exactly at positions where they are needed to assure a certain functionality. The improvement of traditional and digital printing technologies press makers and printers gained a number of very special competences which enable them to extend their scope to print inks addressing functionalities beyond color. By printing inks which represent the functionalities insulation, conductivity and semi-conductivity in appropriate patterns on top of each other, electrical circuitry can be manufactured. The choice of the application technology per printed functionality depends on the required resolution and the rheological properties of the functional ink. Layer stacks consisting of patterned layers of different functional materials open opportunities for the productive manufacturing of a variety of attractive products. The talk will introduce into digital manufacturing strategies, will discuss opportunities, challenges and limitations of printing smart objects with functionalities beyond color and will compile some promising examples of appropriate .
